When communication breaks down, Thelma will help to facilitate an effective
resolution. Representing the company, she works to build a rapport with
the employee and manager and ensures expectations are clear. In some
instances, an employee may also choose to bring a support person.
Dispute Resolution
If an employee issues a personal grievance against the company, Thelma
meets with both parties individually. These meetings can help to establish
a process where all requirements can be met. Sometimes the issue will
be resolved with a formal agreement of settlement.
Representation at mediation service hearings
A mediation hearing, even though not as formal as a hearing at the Employment
Relations Authority, can be stressful for everyone involved. Thelma
will help to prepare the case, ensuring the correct information is available
and can also attend this mediation as a representative, or in a support
role.
